Anna Greenberg – dancer, holds a BA in Dance, Choreography, and Children’s Book Illustration from Hampshire College. She attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and has trained at The San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, The Ailey School, and with The Merce Cunningham Dance Company. She has the pleasure of performing with Deborah Slater Dance Theater, Paufve Dance, Kristin Damrow & Company, and Human Creature Dance Theater.
Derek Harris – dancer, is a multidisciplinary artist from Oklahoma City with experience in the visual arts, photography, theatre, music, dance, choreography, and writing. He has choreographed works for the stage, film, commercials, and music videos. Since moving to San Francisco, Derek has worked as a dancer with Hope Mohr Dance, punkkiCo, Deborah Slater Dance Theatre, and Human Creature Dance Theatre, which he co-founded in 2008.
Jane Hirshfield – poet, has two new books, The Beauty (poems) and Ten Windows: How Great Poems Transform the World, both Knopf 2015. Earlier books have been finalist for the National Award, and received the Donald Hall-Jane Kenyon Prize in American Poetry, the California Book Award, and other honors. A current chancellor of The Academy of American Poets, Hirshfield’s work appears in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New Republic, Harper’s, The Paris Review, Poetry, and in eight editions of The Best American Poetry. Book Critics Circle.
Albert Mathias – Sound Design Consultant – Audio/video artist, has been performing in San Francisco and abroad since 1991. He is an award wining multi-disciplinary musician who creates live composition and recorded sound design for dance, theater, film, video, and audio media(s). He also produces and performs his own solo music under the name StRiCtLy AlBeRt. Mathias is Music Director of la ALTERNATIVA and works independently with choreographers, improvisers, musicians and visual artists.
Patricia Silver – actor, is a charter member of WORD FOR WORD Performing Arts Company, now in its 21st year. Her first work with DSDT was NIGHT FALLS produced in 2012, co-directed by Deborah Slater, written by Julie Hébert. She is honored to be working with DSDT again, and to be on stage with such extraordinary dancers.
Deborah Slater – director, winner of the 2015 Della Davidson Prize for innovative work in theater & dance, is a director, choreographer and performer, has worked in dance & theater for over 30 years. She is the Artistic Director of Deborah Slater Dance Theater, celebrating 25 years in 2014, and Artistic Director of Studio 210, which turns 35 in 2015. A multi-media dance company, DSDT does visually gorgeous, acrobatic, talking dance, dedicated to the creation of full-length works exploring social issues, science and art through original dance, text and music.
